Zzeeks Story

Jody And Mark Aka “Zzeek” have always shared a love of pizza. Zzeek learned to make pizza from his mother and started as a 10-year-old making pizza for the neighborhood kids. Jody growing up in the U.P. of Michigan was surrounded by independent Mom and Pop Pizzerias and, at a very young age, decided that’s what she was going to do when she grew up because she loved to eat pizza and still eats pizza almost every day.

After graduating from college, they both found their way to Phoenix and began working for a large Global Pizza Brand. This is where they met and eventually got married. Jody was a high energy Mega successful G.M., and Zzeek went the route of supervising stores and learning the business from all sides.

In 2001 they purchased 12 franchise restaurants in Portland, Oregon. Over the next 10 years of working hard, they turned those restaurants into some of the best in the Pacific Northwest. Although they were successful, they missed Phoenix, so when the opportunity came to sell their restaurants and move back home, they jumped at the opportunity.

In 2013 they opened the first Zzeeks Pizza in Ahwatukee. The Mission was simple, they wanted to make pizza the old way, hand tossed fresh dough made in house daily. Sauce is made daily from the best ingredients simmering it long and slow to capture all the essence of those ingredients. Zzeeks has award winning Chicken wings with 28 different flavoring choices, going all the way from mild to suicide, sweet to salty and vinegar, dry rubs, and traditional wet sauces. Many of these are developed in our kitchen and can’t be found anywhere else. Zzeeks also has a healthy Menu full of incredible choices, ranging from Keto crust pizza, cauliflower pizza, Vegan option crusts, and the best Vegan cheese on the Market. Great made to order salads, including all your favorites like Cobb, Ceasar, Anti Pasto, Southwest, and Garden, just to name a few.

The most important part of their business plan was to dig into the communities of each restaurant and support those communities with Fundraising, becoming an outlet for local Charities to partner with, supporting food drives, and leading an annual food drive for our four-legged friends.
